I am a Daughter of a Dressmaker who used her dressmaking savings to travel from the caribbean island of St Lucia to London in the 1960's. Born in East London I continued my mothers Passion for design & begun designing and making clothing and lifestyle products. I found a deep interest in recycling textiles and using beautiful floral vintage 'one off' fabrics from charity shops around the UK.
Taking my experience from my BA Fashion Degree I set up my label Wildsuga and I teach freelance workshops and sell online under my Art-fashion-Lifestyle label Wildsuga . I am also apart of a London based music Hip-hop Afro-Soul Duo called Native Sun whom Tour & Perform locally & internationally in places such as Mexico, USA and Sudan to name a few.
I find design inspiration on my music travels and enjoy Creativity & sound / nurturing spaces. I have a strong passion to help preserve indigenous arts and textiles. as well as empower a woman's beauty and her home. One of my ongoing passions for over 10 years is to explore the reality that the "City is the forest" therefore the people's of the city can reclaim that nomad within and reconnect to mama earth. My focus is based on a woman who is a Wildsuga an earthy dreamer, a mother, a deep, wise, spirited & rooted sister on a journey to transform, nurture self & travel cosmically internally and externally empowering the heart of a nomadic adventure.
My exploration on this topic extends across different art forms from fashion, illustration & Graphics, music, photography and painting.
Over the years i have worked on various projects and collections and currently i am fusing all these loved disciplines into Art prints, lifestyle products & Jewellery.
