so far so sweet in the carribean islands of St Lucia, my mothers home place of Vieux fort. i spent today sketching and visiting the local town, its apparent im foreign lol...i try to blend in but i guess its hard with an english accent, i do emphasis that im st lucian at heart-been here 6 times, i get laughed at... no but its true thou i say!!

water shortage..."serious"
My grandma is 91 years old and she knows st lucia with a knowledge so wise i couldnt even begin to speak- she mentioned how the water had never been so bad in stlucia after every time it rains water shortage is completly cut and we are currently back to basics- toilets dont flush, no water to wash and if you dont have a tank you got to rely on rain water, saved water or bottled water....There's been no water for two days due to the rain: apparently:
Saint Lucia/Mtubatuba obtains its water from the uMfolozi River. The catchment area for the river is Vryheid district which, traditionally, receives summer rainfall. During late winter/early summer, the level of the uMfolozi River drops and, sometimes, totally drys up.
The irony is that the more rain that falls the less water will be
available in the "pipes".
It teaches me just how much water is wasted in the uk
