Day 5 #100DaysOfHappinessandCreativity
I have always struggled with drinking water but finding new ways to drink water is actually so much fun!
i love how the chia grows and changes in the water with an almost white hairy aura :)
i recommend this happy recipe, chia seeds have a lot of great benefits ...... see below
A few things i have learnt from: HERE and HERE......
- Chia seeds are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids
- Chia seeds do not need to be ground to be absorbed by the body and they can be stored for long periods of time without going rancid
- They help with hydration due to their ability to absorb up to 9-10 times their weight in water
- Chia seeds also contain fibre, protein, calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, and zinc among many other nutrients
- Chia Fresca boosts energy levels
- Chia seeds are among the healthiest foods on the planet.
- They are loaded with nutrients that can have important benefits for your body and brain.
- They are tiny black seeds from the plant Salvia Hispanica, which is related to the mint.
- This plant grows natively in South America.
- Chia seeds were an important food for the Aztecs and Mayans back in the day.
- They prized them for their ability to provide sustainable energy… in fact, “chia” is the ancient Mayan word for “strength.”
- Despite their ancient history as a dietary staple, only recently did chia seeds become recognized as a modern day superfood.
- In the past few years, they have exploded in popularity and are now consumed by health conscious people all over the world.
